A message from the mom behind the diapers:
Hi, my name is Heather Nerheim and I am the president of Urban Fluff, LLC. My cloth diapering journey began in May 2006 when I gave birth to my son, Peter. My husband and I always knew that we wanted to cloth diaper our children. During my pregnancy I researched and learned everything I could about cloth diapers and all of the different cloth diapering options that were available to me. I discovered the wonderful world of modern diapering and I was hooked! I have an art degree from the University of Washington and have always loved creating and designing, especially with fabric. After trying every kind of cloth diapering method on my son, I decided to design a diaper that was both functional and fashionable. I started the business under the name Just Ducky Baby!, LLC. Many months later, and after several re-designs, the Deluxe Microfiber All-In-One was complete.
Our Deluxe AIO had a great reception, but I didn't want to stop there. In an effort to continue to design the world's most luxurious, fashionable, and cutting edge diapers I developed our One-size AIO and One-size Plush Pockets which were released in October 2007. Our One-size All-In-One was the first diaper on the market to offer parents economy and convenience by combining a one-size diaper body with an innovative snap-in insert that allows parents to re-use the diaper body and simply snap in a new insert as long as the diaper body isn’t soiled. Our One-size AIO is now our most popular product.
In 2008 we decided to re-vamp our branding and Urban Fluff opened in June of that year. We have a new website and have made revisions to many of our wonderful diapering products.
Our materials are sourced in the USA and Canada and most fabrics are NAFTA compliant. We use only the highest quality, latex-free, polybraid elastic in our diapers, so you do not have to worry about latex allergies or irritation. Our elastic is designed to hold up well in high-heat washing and drying routines and will not wear out. Our diapers are carefully and conscientiously sewn by a small but wonderful WAHM-run sew-shop in Cinebar, WA. Scrap materials are donated to a local church group.
With a husband in the Marine Corps, I am often required to move around the country, and I am so thankful that I am able to move the business with me! Distribution is currently out of Jacksonville, NC.
This fall (2009) I was SO excited to introduce the iCandy Diapering System. My goal was to bring you a gorgeous diaper that featured tons of amazing designer prints BUT I would not tolerate any wicking or leaking! Our new innovative (patent pending) design features a snap-in, wipe-clean, elasticized, waterproof liner that completely contains any messes and keeps them off your super cute iCandy wrapper!
I am always revising and designing, creating new products and improving old ones! We have an exciting new product line up for Fall of 2009 so keep checking back! I carefully listen to every piece of feedback, both good and bad, and am always striving to create the “perfect” diaper for my customers.
